What fabric types do you recommend for dogs with allergies?

For dogs with Atopic Dermatitis

With Canine Atopic Dermatitis (CAD), dogs’ immune systems overreact to airborne allergens (think pollen, ragweed, mold, dust mites etc.) that can show as skin symptoms, especially itching, or sometimes can lead to respiratory or digestive issues.

For dogs with atopic allergies, we recommend either our Heavy Duty Vinyl or Textilene (Outdoor Mesh) fabrics. Neither will harbor allergens like pollen and are both easily cleaned; any potential irritants can be wiped off with a damp cloth or hosed down and wiped dry to give your pup a nice, clean place to lay.

For dogs with Contact Dermatitis

Some dogs experience contact dermatitis that can cause irritated skin. Typically, we recommend our Cordura (Textured Nylon) for dogs with sensitive skin; we have found that the Nylon material with no vinyl coating causes less issues for these dogs. The Cordura (Textured Nylon) is similar to a canvas backpack material, so if your dog doesn’t experience symptoms with similar fabrics, they will likely fare well with this option.
