Kuranda and Stronger Shot at Prince George's County Animal Services in Maryland

This past April, we partnered with Stronger Shot - a national project that works to increase shelter pet adoptions through professional photography and storytelling. This was the perfect pairing (if we do say so ourselves!); Stronger Shot and Kuranda are both dedicated to improving the life of shelter animals as they await their forever homes. Stronger Shot took our beds and did a photoshoot with a handful of dogs at the Prince George's County Animal Services located in Upper Marlboro, Maryland.
Stronger Shot has been taking photos of shelter pets for over a decade, providing narratives for these animals across the country through quality photography and videography. This has proven to help increase adoptions. By upgrading intake photos with compelling visual storytelling content, Stronger Shot has helped thousands of dogs to find homes.
Kuranda has been a staple of pet owner's homes, commercial facilities, and shelters since 1987. Prince George's County Animal Services places pets in the most suitable homes for both the pet and the family. They provide life-saving care to animals in need and help the community through various programs like their monthly Nibbles Nook Food Pantry.

Shelter pets are often overlooked because their intake photos are typically lower quality, blurry and show a stressed animal, whereas Strong Shot photos are professionally shot and really highlight each animal's personality.

Kuranda also works with thousands of animal welfare organizations across the country through our ShelterBeds donation program. Supporters can donate beds to the animals in need at a discount, and those donations will ship directly to the organization for free (within the lower 48 states). Find out more at ShelterBeds.Org.
One thing you may be wondering is how do the Stronger Shot photoshoots actually work? Adam Goldberg, founder of Stronger Shot, has built a national team of photographers who shoot and support several shelters across the country. The shelters do not pay for the photoshoots, instead Stronger Shot receives corporate or individual sponsorships. Individuals can sponsor for $100 per dog and once 10 dogs at a shelter are sponsored, a photoshoot is then organized and scheduled. Another option is to sponsor an entire shoot for 10 dogs for $1000. This way, Stronger Shot photographers can continue their invaluable work without putting any financial strain on the shelters themselves.
