Here are some tips that work for some dogs if you'd like to try before returning:
Try taking the legs completely off the bed for a little while; sometimes this helps an apprehensive pup acclimate to the elevated design. Generally, after the dog is comfortable with the feel of the bed, you can put the legs back on without any problems.
Some dogs also really prefer a pillow pad or bolster for the bed but please note that these options are not chew proof.
Another option is to offer your dog a busy toy just for use on the bed, such as a frozen peanut butter toy or special chew toy that is only offered when the dog is on the bed.
