Shelter Shout Out: Solano County Sherriff’s Office - Animal Care Division
Posted by Caroline Aro on 08/05/2024
Our Shelter Shout Outs give us the opportunity to highlight a successful or creative Kuranda bed drive and to share in our animal welfare group’s successes!
Kuranda works with countless Animal Control offices and Animal Care Divisions from municipalities across the country and we hear feedback on the difficulties these types of organizations face. One of which is getting Kuranda Beds donated. Many are understaffed and overworked, but the animals in their care still deserve these beds. We are here to support them as we do for all the other Animal Welfare Organizations that are part of the Kuranda ShelterBeds family.
For March 2023’s Shelter Shout Out, we wanted to focus on the Solano County Sheriff’s Office Animal Care Division. During the month of February, they ran a bed drive campaign with great results.
This drive began with a need to help alleviate overcrowding in their main shelter - something everyone working in Animal Welfare right now can attest to. Their new shelter and adoption building became too full to house all the animals they were taking in. So, they needed to use an older building that had some Kuranda beds from over 10 years ago. Their donation campaign focused on the issue that they were using some older housing and wanted the dogs staying there to have the best comfort and the best beds they could.
They took advantage of all their social media platforms to connect with their community and to share their KSB Wishlist.
We hope their story will inspire you to support your local shelter and help the animals in their care get the beds they need!
