A Pet Owner’s Guide to the 2024 Holidays: Pet-Friendly Activities near Baltimore, Maryland

There are so many dog-friendly holiday and Christmas events around Baltimore – check it out because now’s the time to start planning your holiday outings! Keep in mind that some of these events, while dog friendly, can get quite loud and crowded. These kinds of environments may be overstimulating and stressful for your dogs, so be sure to plan accordingly!

PAWL-iday Yappy Hour & Photos with Santa

What: Enjoy holiday festivities and puppy love – admission includes a pet picture with Santa and all proceeds benefit a local animal welfare organization. This event is 21+

When: Thursday, November 14, 5pm – 8pm

Where: The Point in Fells, 1738 Thames St, Baltimore, MD 21231

Admission: $15

2nd Annual Pawliday Village

Where: Head to Rye Street Park for Maryland SPCA’s 2nd annual Pawliday Village! This is a great event for the whole family, dogs included! There will be local food and retail vendors, face painting and other activities for the kids. Plus, get your pet photos with Santa and check out available animals for adoption!

When: Saturday, November 16, 11 am – 3 pm

Where: Rye Street Park, 301 E Cromwell St., Baltimore, MD 21230

Admission: Free admission, some activities require payment to participate

Christmas Village, Inner Harbor

What: Every year, Baltimore’s beloved Christmas Village pops up in the Inner Harbor. Modeled after traditional Christmas Markets in Germany, vendors gather offering wares perfect for holiday gifts for your loved ones. This unique festival brings in a warm holiday spirit to the Baltimore waterfront.

When: Saturday, November 23 – Tuesday, December 24, 2024 || Sun – Thu: 12 pm – 8 pm, Fri – Sat: 12 pm – 9 pm

Where: 501 Light Street, Baltimore, MD 21201

Admission: Free to the public

Santa Paws at Homestead Gardens

What: Attend a fun holiday event designed for furry friends and take home a picture of your pet with Santa! Be sure to bring your phone or camera to capture this special holiday moment. This event will take place at various Homestead Gardens locations and different dates. Please refer to the Homestead Gardens website for specifics.

When: Wednesday, December 4th, 4pm – 7pm || Friday, December 6th, 4pm –7pm

Where: Dec. 4th event is at the Severna Park Store, 522 Ritchie Highway, Severna Park, MD 21146.
Dec. 6th event is at both Davidsonville Store, 743 West Central Ave, Davidsonville, MD 21035 and Smyrna Store, 5580 Dupont Parkway, Smyrna, DE 19977.

Symphony of Lights

What: The Symphony of Lights has been a Howard County tradition for over 25 years. Over 300,000 light bulbs illuminate the historic Merriweather Post Pavilion in displays of larger-than-life light creations. It’s a memorable event for the family – even our four-legged friends are welcome for the drive through experience!

Looking to walk through the magical displays with your pup? Get tickets for Tail Lights on Monday, December 9! Tail Lights runs that night from 5:30pm – 8:00pm.

When: Friday, November 29, 2024 – Saturday, January 5, 2025

Where: Merriweather Post Pavilion, 10475 Little Patuxent Parkway, Columbia, MD 21044

Admission: $14 - $50 depending on the night, drive through vs walk through etc.
