How to Care for your Kuranda Bed
Our durable, patented chew-proof beds are sure to last for you and your pup, but to ensure the longevity of your Kuranda bed, here are some care and cleaning tips that we recommend:
Cleaning/Washing
Kuranda beds are easy to clean! Leave your bed assembled and either spot clean with warm, soapy water or you can take it outside and hose it off - check out how easy it is!
Whether you are using plain soap and water or any heavier duty cleaner, please be sure to thoroughly rinse with water afterward.
Bleach solutions are okay to use on the Heavy Duty Vinyl and Outdoor Mesh (Textilene) but keep in mind that it may discolor our Cordura (Textured Nylon) and Ballistic (Smooth Nylon) fabrics.
In the event that you do need to disassemble the bed and put the fabric into a washing machine, machine wash on cold and re-assemble the bed while the fabric is still wet to avoid shrinking.
Dog Bed Accessories

All Kuranda bed pads and accessories are machine washable! Our Fleece Blankets, Pillow Pads, Canvas Bed Pads, Bolster/Pillow Pad and Slip Covers can be machine washed cold, tumble dried on low.
Care and Keeping of Beds
You can find more information on our fabric types and frame types, but as a quick rundown:
Our Aluminum Frames can hold up to 250 lbs and are suitable for indoor/outdoor use. Our PVC Frames have a weight limit of 100 lbs – the Almond PVC (light beige color) is good to use indoor/outdoor as well, but we do not recommend using the Walnut PVC (dark brown color) outdoors. The darker PVC attracts heat from direct sunlight more than the Almond color and can cause warping and bowing over time.
We do not recommend using the Cordura (Textured Nylon) fabric for outdoor use – it can attract debris and absorbs liquid. If it stays wet for prolonged periods of time, it could potentially grow mold.
