Keri Riley, representing Five Acres Animal Shelter says, " FAAS is the only "no kill shelter" in our community and it is my belief that these types of places should be rallied around and supported in any way possible. Their dogs would definitely benefit from a Kuranda bed. As an animal lover my family fully supports FAAS. I have personally participated in donation drives to collect needed items.
Additionally,on a professional level FAAS provides inclusive volunteer opportunities for individuals with developmental disabilities. Since I work in the developmental disability field, this type of inclusion is important not only for the animals, but for the community as a whole."
Lauren Bosecker and her team at Five Acres Animal Shelter are excited to compete with Keri Riley and her dog McFly and she says "Five Acres Animal Shelter is the only no-kill shelter in St. Charles County, Missouri. Our mission is to end pet homelessness, promote responsible pet ownership and advocate for animal welfare. In 2015 we found forever homes for 816 cats and dogs. All of these animals were either surrendered to us by owners that can no longer care for them or pulled from shelters where they faced euthanasia. Five Acres Animal Shelter believes in second chances and is also one of the only shelters in the area that will care for and find homes for special needs animals."
