Comments:
I purchased 2 beds for use in a large crate for 2 boxer puppies. They had destroyed every kind of crate pad/bed we had purchased. It has taken a little time for them to feel steady on the beds since the canvas has a little give, but they are getting there. The important thing is they are safe, clean and we don't have to worry while they are in the crate from swallowing materials and stuffing. One suggestion - create shorter legs for optional home crate use...In kennels the legs are fine, but I wish they were a bit lower to the ground.

Great Bed!!

Pros

  • Comfortable For Pet

Comments:
Bought this bed for my two-year-old boxer who needs to be kenneled! She loves it and sleeps through the night. My other two dogs tried it out and love it too! Only problem I have is with the fleece cover -- it's soft and the dog loves it, but the elastic was torn off immediately by the dog. If the elastic was adhered better -- I would give it a glowing review!

My dog is a big chewer and was eating her soft bed. The second we assembled her new Kuranda bed, she made herself comfortable on it and laid down. She hasn't even tried chewing it! And she sleeps comfortably all night long. Now I can relax and not worry that she will eat a portion of her bed when I'm not watching her and get an obstruction.

I Bought the crate bed for the optional shorter legs
This was bought for an older dog going through
A long drawn out treatment for yeast over growth
The detox is hard on his skin and being elevated
Puts less pressure on his skin and allows for
Air flow
I also bought 2 fleece pads since I have to launder
More often due to the detox of yeast

Abbee, our Weimariner, has had your bed 2+ years. In the 6 months prior to that she had chewed or shredded 4 dog beds. Even one the manufacterer guaranteed (they lost money on us). She loves to "kennel up". Then a year ago we rescued a little dog who became her best buddy, and there is plenty of room for both on her bed. There is no damage, and if it's dirty you just rinse it off and let it dry. Love it !!

We have a 9 mth old Doberman Pinscher who was destroying every bed we bought and put in her crate. I researched Kuranda and we purchased it immediately after all the good reviews that I read. This is the BEST decision we have made. We have now had the bed for almost a month and she has definitely tried to chew, scratch and destroy it but it has been unsuccessful!! The only con about this bed is that she can't seem to get comfy on it. Other than that I would recommend this to anyone looking for a good bed for the pupp/dog!!

Finicky Wheaten Terrier

Pros

  • Attractive Design
  • Comfortable For Pet
  • Soft

Comments:
Bed is fine. Our son has one and his Lab loves it, but my Wheaten Terrier won't have anything to do with it and refuses to enter his pen as a result! He'd rather lay on the floor. I did get him to spend one night on the bed - in his pen - but I had to usher him into the pen first. Nothing wrong with the bed. Good construction and fits the pen perfectly.

I decided to adopt a dog upon graduating college, so we got a crate and a Kuranda bed in advance. I chose Kuranda based on reviews that indicated it was the best bed for a dog, and its price wasn't as high as some alternatives. When we visited the Humane Society, I was pleased to see they used Kuranda beds too, because hopefully that meant our new dog would be happy to see a similar bed when we got home. The bed stays in the crate, and she doesn't go in there unless she has to (though she's perfectly happy once she's in!), but she seems comfortable lying on it for hours at a time.

I like that it seems sturdy and will hopefully last a long time (we've had it for two and a half months so far, and it still looks good). However, we spilled a fair amount of water on it one day and the water stains won't come out of it. I haven't tried hosing it down or submerging it, but cleaning it with a washcloth doesn't work, and I don't want to use any sort of chemicals on it.

We got a pretty large one, and unfortunately it doesn't fit in our car very well, so we can't travel with it. Its construction makes it sturdy, but it also means you can't easily fold it up for travel/storage. Looking at the pictures, I had thought it would be easy to break down and travel, but that isn't really an option.

Overall, I recommend this bed. Our new dog likes sleeping on a pile of blankets next to our bed, or on a sofa, or on the Sumo Sac, but it's really good to have inside the crate and I think it will be better long-term than other options.

I have 2 high-needs miniature dachshunds. One has extensive hair loss and is always cold, the other has great difficulty holding his bladder and pees in his crate almost every day. They have large breed dog crates so they have plenty of room and I've bought the toy breed size Kuranda crate beds with fleece pads for them. There's still enough space for them to go "potty" if they must. Ever since buying their Kuranda beds, neither of them has peed in their crate since! Also, the dachshund who's always cold loves her Kuranda bed so much that she spends lots of time in her crate on her bed even when I'm home and she could sleep wherever she wants. I'm so pleased with my purchase.

Comments:
We bought the small standard bed in the 40 oz. vinyl. and are pleased with our purchase. We have had some trouble, however, getting our dog to use the bed. We have a 32 lb. beagle mix. He is crate trained, because he is young and still in a destructive phase. He has destroyed all of the soft beds we have given him as well as sheets and blankets that we put in his crate. His usual spot is on the floor at the corners where the sectional sides meet, so we were concerned this bed wouldn't have enough of a wall on the sides for his comfort.

The bed was delivered four weeks ago and he's finally starting to use it by his own choice. He's been pretty indifferent to it until now. We leave it out in the family room during the day, and put it in his crate when he goes in for the night. We've noticed he doesn't whine as often in the morning to wake us up. He's tried to destroy it many times, scratching at the vinyl corners, and gnawing on the sides. The vinyl is perfect, but there are some scratched/teeth marks on the frame. We don't mind, and are doubtful he could actually break it. He usually only tries for a few minutes before getting bored or frustrated.

We recommend this bed for dogs who can't handle a soft bed. Your dog might take some time to accept it, but don't give up! We gave ours treats when we noticed him standing on the bed and trained him with the word "spot" to get him to run over to it. We also throw a few of his toys on it to get him to spend more time on it. He really likes to chew on a kong while laying on it. He's finally come around to seeing it as his own and settles down in the evenings on it. I think in a few more weeks he'll be total convert.
