| How
are the beds chew proof?
|
Any place the fabric
is in a position to be chewed, it is protected by a poly-resin
sleeve. There are no corner gaps to bite. Once in a while a
dog will bite through a leg or side piece but it is quite rare.
This image shows how the fabric fits into the frame of the bed
so your dog cannot reach the fabric. Caution: Fabrics are vulnerable
to tearing by persistently scratching or digging dogs.
|
Are
fabrics and parts replaceable? |
| Absolutely! Fabrics
are replaceable as are all parts including frame members, corners,
and legs; even screws & nuts are available. |
Are Kuranda beds guaranteed? |
| Our beds are GUARANTEED CHEWPROOF for one full year!
We guarantee the structural integrity of the frames and fabrics of our dog beds for a period of one year from date of purchase. Accordingly, we will replace frame parts and fabric damaged by dogs to the point of not being useable at no charge during this period. This warranty also includes chewing of corner fittings and legs. Fabrics covered under this guarantee are 40 oz solid vinyl, Cordura nylon and Ballistic nylon. Multiple fabric replacements for the same bed and replacement of textilene vinyl weave fabric will be handled on a case by case basis. |
Which
fabric is best? |
The three fabrics we
use are all excellent materials; each has its advantages.
Vinyl weave is similar to what is used on lawn chairs;
it breathes, allows water to seep through it, and is cooler
than the other two fabrics. However, it is the least durable
of the three and is not recommended for jumping, rough-housers.
Cordura is an attractive
but tough nylon canvas. It is also used for knapsacks and horse
blankets; it is simlar to what is used on soft luggage but doesn’t
have as much texture. Cordura is at least twice as durable as
vinyl weave. However, it is non-porous (water won’t go
through it) and it doesn’t breathe.
40
oz Vinyl is our most durable fabric. It is a thick fabric
and has a smooth, very easy to clean surface. Like Cordura it
doesn’t breathe and will hold water if rained on. |
Can
dogs dig through the fabric? |
| A determined digger
or scratcher can eventually make a hole if he or she works on
one spot. For diggers we recommend 40 oz vinyl but please be
aware even this exceptionally durable fabric can be scratched
thru. |
What
if my dog just doesn't like the bed? |
| Provided it is in new
condition (no scratches or scuffs on the frame), a bed may be
returned within 30 days of purchase. However, there is
a $10.00 - 15.00 fabric charge as we cannot reuse a fabric no matter
how little it was used. |
How
high off the ground are the beds? |
| All wooden beds plus
sizes 24x25 through 40x25 in metal, poly and aluminum are about
six inches off the floor, 44x27’s and 50x35’s are
about 9 inches. |
Which
bed is best? |
| All depends on the dog.
Wooden beds look nice and are quite comfortable but are not
for chewing dogs or outside use. The all aluminum is our strongest
and most durable but most around the home dogs will be fine
on either the poly or metal beds. For boarding kennels and shelters
we recommend the poly resin or all aluminum framed beds. |
