New Corner Options We now have three corner options to choose from; PVC, DuPont Super Tough Nylon, and aluminum. Our standard PVC corners (Georgia Gulf 7140) have been generally holding up very well since we changed the pigment used to color the plastic in May, 2008. |

We started testing Super Tough Nylon last year and so far the results have been outstanding. This compound is both very strong and flexible and will eliminate breakage in most cases if a bed falls off the side of a wall during cleaning or a 150 pounder uses a bed as a trampoline. Nylon corners are available for $2 extra per bed over our standard boarding kennel wholesale prices. |
Aluminum corners are now available. These corners, when combined with aluminum frame piping and aluminum legs, create a virtually indestructible bed that will last indefinitely. Aluminum corners and legs add $25 to the cost of a bed so we are also offering beige colored aluminum top corners to go with either PVC or Nylon bottom corners. Our experience shows that the plastic top corners (either PVC or Nylon) of our beds can be vulnerable to chewing dogs. Once the top is chewed the bottom corner is exposed and can be chewed. If the top corner is metal is should stop the majority of corner chewing. Aluminum top corners can be used on either PVC or aluminum framed beds on new purchases or they be retrofitted to existing beds.

Insert style vinyl leg caps
Insert style vinyl leg caps will be available in mid to late October. These caps have a center hole for drainage and are designed to make it almost impossible to be pulled out of a leg. It may be necessary to glue the caps in place; we had hoped to avoid gluing but in order for the caps to prevent sliding we had to switch to a softer vinyl. If gluing is required it will take no more than 1 1/2 minutes per bed.

Fabric Life now averaging 4 years
Since February 2006 we have been heat welding 40 oz solid vinyl fabric, the most durable material we have found in our 16 years making dog beds. This process eliminated sewing and weakness in the material. In addition the stitches became a target for scratching paws. Based on our customers' experience so far it appears that the heat welded fabrics will last close to 4 years on average.
