Our dogs love their new beds!

Pros

  • Attractive Design
  • Comfortable For Pet
  • Easy To Clean
  • Long Lasting

Cons

  • Legs Need Freq Tightening

Best Uses

  • Indoors
  • Large Pets

Comments:
We bought these beds because we were tired of the round dog beds that sit on the floor and collect dirt and hair. These beds lift the dogs up off of the floor, provide them with great support and are easy to clean. The legs however require frequent tightening and we needed to put rubber stoppers on the bottom of the legs to stop the beds from sliding around on our tile floor. Our dogs couldn't be happier!

Comments:
I bought this bed to curb my 2 year old boxers destructive bed habbit. It seems to have worked. Although Elwood did not seem thrilled about his new bed and refused to step onto it at first, he eventually realized it was for him. I did put a creat pad with a small stuffed rim on top of the bed mostly because boxers are pillow dogs. The bed is great because it is off the floor and moves easily for cleaning under and around. There is no filling that accumulates dog smell or destruction of foam when he is left alone. My 3 year old daughter also loves to lay on the bed with Elwood. I also vacuum the canvas easily with the stair attachment. The only thing I do not like about the bed is that Elwood likes to relocate his bed and pushes it around. He really cant move it to far but I am happy that it is still in 1 piece regardless of where it ends up.

Comments:
I bought this bed for my son's dog.
His dog was recently in a kennel while they were on vacation and my son noticed that the boarding kennel used the Kurandra beds exclusively for their guests, large and small.
I called the kennel and got the name of the bed and ordered one...My son loves it (and so does the dog)...He uses it as an outdoor bed. The dog prefers the bed to the outdoor furniture and it keeps the dog off the ground...Great product, attractive functional and sturdy design.

overall a very good bed

Pros

  • Easy To Clean
  • Gets Dogs Off The Floor

Cons

  • Squeaky

Comments:
I only bought the standard cot for my dogs as they are not chewers and it made sense to spend less if the "chew proof" was not needed. However, it is very squeaky when the dogs get on, move around, etc. I have pretty thick blankets and quilts on them to attract the dogs to them - but the noise wakes me up at nite when they move around[...]I do love them to get the dogs off of the floor as ours get quite cold in winters. easy to clean and look great. = )

Comments:
We searched everywhere for a raised dog bed and nobody sold them and then found a link to Kuranda on our local Humane Society web site, so pleased we did, the Kuranda dog beds are much better quality than what we had previously seen online and at a similar price. The ability to customize the bed [...] made dealing with Kuranda a great experiance.

great cot! easy to transport to the kennel when i board my dogs. i use a towel for them to lay on because my dogs are spoiled & like the blanket feel to it. 2 out of my 3 dogs use it daily and rotate. i have 2 lab mixes & a cathoula mix so 60-80lb dogs. i got the XL & L dog cot. the smaller dog uses both beds as well as the larger 80lb dog.

Quality comfortable bed

Pros

  • Comfortable
  • Easily Cleaned
  • Light Weight

Comments:
The large bed is great for our 80lb GSP. It is lightweight so my wife can move it easily, and big enough that our dog has plenty of room. The only thing I would want is more height. It is about 3-4 inches off the ground. I would prefer twice that. That being said, I would buy another one because they are great beds.

Wish my dog liked this as much as I do

Pros

  • Attractive Design
  • Easy To Clean
  • Long Lasting

Cons

  • Restrictive

Best Uses

  • Medium Pet
  • Small Pets

Comments:
This bed is well designed and well made. It is attractive and looks to last a long, long time--in part because my dog refuses to use it.

I bought two Kundera beds to replace semi-disposable pillow-style beds with broken zippers and stained covers. I sized my purchases on the pillow-beds they replaced. I got large beds; my dog's an eighty-pound American Bulldog/Dogo mix. I thought that my dog would especially appreciate the ventilation in the height of summer (it gets hot and humid in Montreal in July and August). Unfortunately my dog has slept a total of one night on the beds since I assembled them over two weeks ago. He does not use them at all during the day.

My guess is that he is more comfortable stretched out on the cool floor than curled up on the beds.

The problem is the inherent design (raised rails supporting an elevated sheet of textile), which prevents dogs from hanging over the side of the bed the way they can with a pillow lying on the floor.

I will keep the beds until the fall to see if my dog will use them when the weather cools down.

The bottom line is that Kundera makes high-quality beds that may or may not suit the needs/preference of your dog. The three-star rating reflects the design limitation, not the quality of the products, which is excellent.

Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend

Comments:
We now own 3 Kuranda beds.
Our most recent purchase was a cot for our 11 year old Standard Poodle. He is beginning to have a little difficulty in the mornings and the cot with a fleece pad seems to help alleviate some of that morning stiffness.
I also recently purchased a slightly larger crate cot for my American Staffordshire Terrier.
This little girl is all terrier and has destroyed all beds prior to her Kuranda!
One recommendation I would make to owners of aggressive chewers is to have your bed size ready before purchasing a new crate.
I upsized to a new crate before checking the dimensions against my new Kuranda crate bed and there is just enough room between the crate and bed for my AmStaff to get a purchase on the frame.
It will be an easy thing to fix but checking bed and crate size prior to purchasing the crate would have been better.
